Eco-Peaks
2019

Created for the 2019 Seattle Design Festival, Eco-Peaks explores the delicate balance between man-made materials and the natural world, proposing a mutually beneficial relationship that fosters success rather than destruction. The installation challenges the typical antagonistic dynamic between built and natural environments by literally supporting and elevating nature.

The structures are designed to hold up and encourage natural growth while bringing it to human scale for meaningful interaction. Rather than dominating the landscape, the installation creates a protective canopy where visitors can sit, observe natural beauty, and experience vernacular plant species within the urban context. This approach transforms the "concrete jungle" into a space where nature and human design coexist harmoniously.

Realized through collaboration with structural engineering and computational design specialists, Eco-Peaks demonstrates how thoughtful design can create symbiotic relationships between the built environment and natural systems. This is a philosophy that reflects Simba's broader commitment to environmentally conscious architecture and community-centered spaces.
